At Coppice Primary School we aim to achieve a yearly Attendance target of 96%.

Achievement in school is affected by the level of attendance.  At Coppice Primary we have high expectations of work, behaviour and attendance and appreciate the cooperation of parents in achieving these standards.

At Coppice Primary good attendance is celebrated at through various celebrations and incentives, please see below.

Rewards & Incentives for Punctuality & Regular Attendance

1.    Weekly recognition during celebration assembly on a Friday where the class who has achieved the highest attendance mark for the previous week in EYFS, KS1 & KS2 will receive tokens to go towards ‘The Half-Termly Attendance & Punctuality’ reward. The class with the most tokens at the end of each half term are rewarded with a class activity.

2.    At the end of each term, all children who have achieved 100% attendance receive a certificate and are entered into a prize draw for a family gift voucher.

3.    Children who achieve 100% attendance for the academic year are entered into a prize draw to win a voucher for a bike.

4.    Attendance & Punctuality Posters and informative information will be displayed in key reception areas across the school.

With the help of the EWASS (Education Welfare Advisory & Support Service), we have devised a table showing the impact of non-attendance and lateness to a child’s learning.
