Reception Learning Overview

We follow the national 'Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)' curriculum which encompasses 7 areas of learning.  As children become increasingly confident and successful in the Prime Areas, they are more able to explore the Specific Areas.

During the year, the children are continually assessed and activities are planned, to support them reaching the early learning goals (success in majority of objectivies in each area).  Some children will be working at a higher level towards the exceeding learning goals.

Each term we will review your child's progress with you at Parent Consultation evenings, also at this time you will receive a report detailing their targets for the term ahead.  If you have any questions, you do not need to wait until these meetings, please arrange a convenient time to meet with your child's class teacher.
