French

French at Coppice is taught weekly once every half term. Our aim in French is to develop pupil’s knowledge of a different language structure, culture and develop communication skills an environment where ideas and answers are rewarded; a place where pupils are not afraid to make mistakes and a trial and error approach is encouraged.

In KS2, all units are designed to meet the objectives recommended by the previous QCA scheme of work. Pupils also have access to linguascope, a computing app that enables to develop their French skills through games.

Pupils have previously been given the opportunity to practice their French on yearly trips to France. We are planning a trip to Boulogne in the summer of 2020.
