Welcome

A huge welcome to all our new parents, we hope you are all keeping well we look forward to seeing you in September.  You should receive your Parent Induction information this week, along with some messages for your children from the nursery teachers.

 

Please note, this year we have altered our nursery uniform as follows.  This is due to the addition of Busy Bees Private Nursery being on site - we want to ensure our nursery children are easily recognisable from the reception children in their play.  Our nursery staff will also be wearing jade green polo shirts so the children will be able to identify them easily.

School Closure Learning Support Ideas

 

To all our children and families, hope you are keeping well and making the most of your family time together.  These are unprecedented times, keeping our families safe and healthy are priorities for all of us.  

 

Helping nursery age children at home is not so much about academics, more developing their self-esteem and independence as they prepare for Reception.  You can help by developing their independence with everyday activities (such as getting dressed, choosing toys and tidying up), encouraging role play and building stories with their small world toys.

W/C 20.4.20 We are on Google Classroom!

 

We will be using Google Classroom to set activities for the children to complete.  This week, we would like children to complete the science activity that has been shared there, reply to to your teacher in the weekly communication log and listen to the daily story that has been uploaded.

 

We will also continue to upload activities to this page, so remember to take a look at the subjects above if you are keen to do extra activities.  There are some great animations in the English page and you can practise your phonics with some games on a link in this page too.

 

There are also some activities provided by BBC Bitesize (please note, these are not materials created by Coppice staff so we cannot take responsibility for the content).

 

From the 27th April, you will be able to access materials that class teachers have prepared on Google Classroom relating to a weekly story, as well as a family learning project for the week which could be science, music etc.

Nursery have been exploring their five senses. During the last two weeks, we have been planting and smelling herbs, listening to various sounds including music and rhythm as well as making mud pies to explore our sense of touch. We have had great fun and these experiences have also enabled us to get to know our learning environment outside of the classroom.
